Informativa privacy

Ultimo aggiornamento: 4 novembre 2026

DatoA cosa serveQuanto resta
Servono solo a correggere i bug.

6.1.f GDPR). Le segnalazioni le invii tu, volontariamente.

Dove sono i dati e chi li vede

Non vendiamo né cediamo i dati a nessun altro.

I tuoi diritti

Modifiche

Se cambia qualcosa su come trattiamo i dati, aggiorniamo questa pagina e la data in alto.

Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 November 2026

In short: you don't need an account to play. We only use the name you pick, to show it to the others during the game. We don't use profiling cookies, we don't run ads and we don't sell data to anyone.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Renato Turetta. For any question or request about your data, write to hello@couchgame.party.

What data we process and why

DataWhat it's forHow long we keep it
The name you pick Showing it on the TV and to the other players, and carrying it from one game to the next within the same party. On the server only in memory, while the room is active (a few hours at most). In your browser until you delete it.
Technical codes in your browser A code that lets you rejoin the same game if your phone disconnects, plus the name, language and avatar you chose. They're saved in your browser's storage (local/session storage) and are not profiling cookies. Until you clear the site data in your browser.
IP address Needed to connect your device to our servers. We also use it, in memory, to limit problem reports to one every 30 minutes and prevent spam. We don't store it in logs or databases. The report limit is forgotten after 30 minutes.
Problem reports If you use "Report a problem", we receive the text you write, the game, the room code, the language and your device and browser type. They're only used to fix bugs. Until the problem is fixed, and in any case no longer than 24 months.
Email If you write to us, we only use your address to reply. For as long as needed to handle your request.

The number of players online shown on the TV is just a count: it contains no personal data. We don't use traffic analytics, advertising pixels or tracking services.

Legal basis

We process this data because it's needed to let you play, i.e. to provide the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and working, for example by limiting spam and fixing bugs (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You send problem reports voluntarily.

Where the data is and who sees it

We don't sell or hand over data to anyone else.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict its use or to object to its processing, by writing to hello@couchgame.party. We reply within 30 days. You can delete the data saved in your browser yourself, by clearing the site data in your browser settings. If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) or with the authority of your country.

Children

CouchGame is meant for playing in a group, including with family. We don't ask for age or contact details to play. If you're under 14, use CouchGame together with a parent and don't put personal information in your name or in problem reports.

Changes

If anything changes in how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
